This was the sort of weekend that everyone imagines is typical of Fall weather in New England, but the combination of color, clarity, and Columbis Day was really like hitting the Trifecta. Everyone, even the locals, felt the urge to get out on country lanes or up into the mountains to soak in the sights. Here are a few images from Sunday in Mt. Washington, MA.
I love the pictures! Here in North Texas the leaves either don't change (just fall) or change & fall & turn ugly. I miss the Fall colors of the midwest (where I grew up).

We have autumn here in Chicago, short-lived as it is, but I miss the rolling hills of my home back in New York! I will be in the Hudson Valley in less than two weeks but I fear that the leaves will have all fallen by then.

It really doesn't get any finer, fb.
Yes, that is Guilder Pond, Terry. We were there around 4:30 in the afternoon on Sunday, with great light and shadow.

Is that Guilder Pond in the last frame? A rare lake at over 2,000 feet.
