Tim Abbott

Peggy, it is very likely that Chandlers in NH are related to Hannah Chandler or her two elder brothers, original settlers of Andover MA. Most of the Abbotts with puritan roots in America descend from either of 2 unrelated yet contemporaneous George Abbotts who were also associated with Andover.

Is Nathaniel Abbott in any way connected to the Concord Coach CO aka Abbott Dowlung Coach?
Also is Hannah Chandler Abbott's line connected to LA Times Mirror Chandlers form Concord,NH?

I know how you feel. For years my main area of interest in history was ancient and medieval,
and I have shelves of books here to prove it. But the past few years as I discover the history
of my family, the colonoal American era has taken on greater imporance to me.

Great post!

Dear Mr. Corbett;

I am grateful for your kind words and continued interest in these historical posts. For a fellow with an avowed passion for the American Civil War, I certainly seem to be writing more about colonial America. There are losts of genealogical reasons for me to do so, but the history is fascinating in and of itself, and I'm glad you approve.

Best regards, Tim

David Corbett

Dear Sir ,
Another superb and most satisfactory post . I wondered what became of Richard Rogers and if he became a Tory like his brother . Your reporting of his death form smallpox answers that question. Enjoyed "Yorktown " post as well. Thank you for bringing so much interesting history to light .
cordially ,
David Corbett
