Sometimes I write on a topic that is of such consistent interest to researchers that it attracts new readers to my blog just about every day. One such post was last September's piece on the anniversary of the Morro Castle disaster.
This tragedy at sea only tangentially affected my family, but those who had loved ones on that vessel often visit my blog looking for information on their relatives.
Thanks to reader Bud Norris, I can now provide this list of the dead and missing from the Morro Castle fire (Click to enlarge).
It is the very least I can do.
I just found out that my great uncle who was part of the crew on the Morro Castle, listed among the dead. I knew he died as a result of the sinking of a historic ship and his body had washed ashore, but wasn't sure which ship. Thank you for posting this list of the dead as it confirms he died on the Morro Castle and not associated with the sinking of the Titanic as I had previously been told.
