High in the Highlands

I was on top of Mohawk Mountain yesterday, and despite the road to the summit I had the view to myself.  This is looking south across Cornwall toward Warren and Kent, CT.  I was there to take pictures in support of a submission for funding under the federal Highlands Conservation Act in FY2012.  I believe the forested and scenic character of the landscape is pretty compelling.

Here is the view looking north and north west toward Massachusetts and New York.  With a picnic table for each view shed, I wish I had brought my lunch.
