I am a shameless fan of cover songs. Not just any covers, though. Fiendishly subversive, cross genre cover songs. Like two old farts playing Led Zeppelin's Black Dog on a tuba.
Oustanding stuff. But wait, there's more, and it isn't just parody. How about Kashmir with 4 cellos?
Or Stairway to Heaven by a bass saxophone quartet?
Or by Roderigo y Gabriela.
Now I realize that Hayseed Dixie and Dredd Zeppelin are not everyone's cup of Jo (although I cannot for the life of me understand how this could be so), so for the rest of you proud, flag waving fans of the classics, here is an homage to Francis Scott Key, on Ukulele, by way of Jimi Hendrix.
All I'm trying to do is take you to Funky Town. God Bless America.
