I've got a new writing gig with the Lakeville Journal, submitting bi-weekly articles for its Nature's Notebook column. It will alternate every other week with longstanding correspondent and naturalist Fred Baumgarten. This feature appears on page 1 below the fold, and you can read it on line at TriCornerExtra (with free registration). My first story will appear in early October, but meanwhile I've already submitted a feature for the paper's annual "Discover Salisbury" publication that will appear in the coming weeks on a little known but remarkably significant wetlands complex along Moore Brook in Salisbury. The honor of the thing far outweighs the nominal payment, though I'm pleased with that as well, and I'm delighted to be asked to contribute.

Congratulations on your new gig. You have been awarded the "I Heart Your Blog" Award over on my blog, The Educated Genealogist.

Tim,
Welcome aboard. Alas, as you join the Journal's team, I will be departing to return to school fundraising. Though I will no longer be an ink-stained wretch, I do look forward to seeing your outstanding writing in print.
Best,
-TC
