This was a nice read and the old photos are great - what a treasure that scrapbook for her 75th must be!


hey.. I was doing a search on bog turtles and guess who I saw mentioned in a Courant article...???

"In the bog turtle's case, you can't just protect the wetland where the turtle is found today," Abbott said. "You have to protect the groundwater supply that feeds the fens [bogs] and other wetland habitats that the turtles rely on over time. With any golf course, groundwater withdrawal is a major concern because if you take out the water, wetlands across a broad area are affected."
