Carnivals in the Stream

Here's a gorgeous find from The Fractal Bargain Bin appropriately titled "Carnival."  Let's see what blog carnivals are swirling out there in the stream.

Oekologie #8 is up at Direction Not Destination, where you can read fascinating stuff in an ecological and environmental vein, such as Yellowstone's Ecology of Fear.

One of my favorite carnivals is Beautiful Africa, which has its third edition this week.  News you never hear about the continent the rest of the world loves to snub.

The American Presidents Blog has The 5th Military History Carnival.  Learn about the campaign to preserve the Welsh medieval battlefield of Hirwaun Common and why, besides for Victorian decorum, it would have been improper for Florence Nightingale to refer to notoriously tactless,  opinionated and argumentative British Army Surgeon Dr. James Barry as a "son of a bitch."
