If we cannot laugh at ourselves, we can't be all that interesting. Based on this assumption, welcome to what may become an occasional feature here at Walking the Berkshires: the Family Archive Caption Contest (or short story in 50 words or less, as you prefer). This is my a challenge and invitation for you to offer your wry and witty captions or pithy accompanying paragraphs for images from our extensive ancestral archive. This is your opportunity to let your fancy take flight and have fun with these photographs without regard for historical accuracy or the genealogical minutia I would otherwise be compelled to dazzle or daze you with. Those of my readers who are also family and actually recognize the principals in these images need not feel constrained from participating regardless of how far you deviate from fact. You'll still get invited to Thanksgiving Dinner - but perhaps get stuck with the dishes!
Very well, then. Caption this!

An extremely sweet photo, I quite agree. I, of course, do know these people, and yet in the spirit in which this post is intended and were I able to compete in my own contest I might have ventured a caption referencing Harold and Maude...
These are wonderful! Thanks for taking the plunge and keep them coming!
